This mod, which presents an entirely original narrative set in London, has been in development since 2019 and has faced numerous challenges along the way. Fortunately, the long wait to discover what Team FOLON has accomplished is almost over.
Release Date Revealed
The massive Fallout 4 mod was expected to be released soon. On July 18, Team FOLON updated their official Discord, announcing that the mod had been approved by GOG and was back in the hands of the developers for final touches. While this was an encouraging sign, it wasn’t an official release date.
Hints of an Early Launch
Earlier today (July 24), Fallout: London’s project manager, Dean Carter, teased an earlier release with a cryptic message. The message, posted in the Discord channel, featured a link to an original song from the game’s soundtrack, “I Just Can’t Wait (For Tomorrow),” along with the comment, “Stay safe and remember. Mind the gap.” Although this wasn’t an official announcement, fans quickly speculated that the mod might be dropping the next day. Carter later confirmed to Inverse that Fallout: London would indeed be released tomorrow, barring any unforeseen events.
The End of a Five-Year Journey
With Fallout: London’s release imminent, it marks the culmination of a five-year development process. The mod functions as an entirely new game, featuring a meticulously crafted London setting, unique quests, voice-acted characters (including a former British Speaker of the House), original music, and more. Earlier this year, the mod’s future seemed uncertain when Bethesda released a next-gen update for Fallout 4, which threatened to break Fallout: London. The team had to delay the project, originally slated for April 23. Players will need to revert to a pre-update version of Fallout 4 to play the mod, with instructions available on the mod’s official website.
