Elden Ring Patch 1.13 Released
Elden Ring's developer, From Software, has rolled out update 1.13 for the game, following a maintenance period affecting all platforms. This update, the second one after the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. It succeeds the 1.12.3 patch from early July, which made adjustments to the Golden Hippopotamus battle among other tweaks.
Notable Quality-of-Life Changes
The patch notes for version 1.13 highlight several updates, including a notable quality-of-life improvement: the default selection of the OK/CANCEL prompt when using the 'Spectral Steed Whistle' while the spectral steed is dead has been changed to "OK". This adjustment aims to enhance user convenience.
Credit Errors to Be Fixed
The update also addresses an issue from patch 1.12 related to the game's credits. The notes indicate that credits corrections, specifically regarding the omission of localisation staff, will be made in a future update.
Game’s Success and DLC Praise
Elden Ring continues to make waves in the gaming world, having sold an impressive 25 million copies. The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC has also been a commercial success, selling five million copies within three days despite its demanding requirements. IGN’s review of the DLC praised it highly, giving it a perfect 10/10 and noting that it raises the bar for single-player DLC by offering a compact yet challenging campaign that extends the landmark RPG experience of the base game.
